Behaviour Support Practitioner Position Description

We are looking for an NDIS-authorised Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our welcoming team.

The Position

Sanctuary Aus seek an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join us. We are seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner that is able to be inclusive in working with the parents/carers and their whole family and who are willing to work holistically to meet the needs of the child/young person and the needs that underlie their difficult and challenging behaviours. We pay well, have passion in our work, provide great conditions and you'll feel proud of the support you give to the young person and their family.

The Benefits

Sanctuary Aus truly value the services our Behaviour Support Practitioners provide. In return you will receive:

  • a hybrid working environment, that includes working from the office, your home and the client’s home or school;

  • a laptop and excellent client systems to enable you to work flexibly;

  • access to a range of therapeutic and engagement tools;

  • an excellent rate of pay;

  • additional salary packaging that considerably increases your take-home pay due to our Charity statues;

  • proper reimbursement of your expenses, such as travel costs;

  • superannuation;

  • inclusion in the ACT Community Services Long-Service Leave Authority (where you can take your accrued Long-Service Leave to future employment;

  • a phone allowance;

  • Full-time or part-time position;

  • free parking;

  • a friendly, fun and compassionate team;

  • opportunities to diversify your work through such avenues as provision of counselling or group work services;

  • working for a charity where you are encouraged to give extra support to your client families to ensure they have what they need to be the best they can be.

The Successful Applicant will have:

  • Authorisation through the NDIS Commission to provide Behaviour Support services: at a minimum of Core level.

If the Practitioner does not already have authorisation as a Behaviour Support Practitioner, they would need to have:

  • a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (eg Behaviour, Psychology, Social Work, Teaching, Allied Health):

  • extensive experience working with people with a disability who exhibit behaviours of concern;

  • a good level of understanding of Behaviour Support policies are practices under the NDIS.
